PJ Sheehan TD was elected to the 30th Dáil on May 24, 2007. He was appointed Deputy Spokesperson on Agriculture with Special Responsibility for Forestry, October, 07.
He was Fine Gael's Junior Spokesperson on Agriculture - Livestock Breeding and Horticulture from June 2000 to February 2001.
P.J. was Fine Gael’s Spokesperson on Agriculture and Forestry and was Assistant Whip of the Party 1997-2000. A member of the Dáil,1981-'02, PJ is a former Fine Gael Spokesperson on Port Development, Safety and Inland Waterways between 1993 and 1994 and on Disadvantaged Areas 1990-1993.
PJ was a member of the Dáil Select Committee on Enterprise and Economic Strategy, the Dáil Committee on Sustainable Development, and of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Small Businesses. He was appointed Convenor of that Committee by An Taoiseach, John Bruton, in January 1995.
PJ is also a member of Muintir na Tire, Irish Farmers Association, Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association, Carberry Agricultural Society Show Committee, Schull Agricultural Society Show Committee, Kealkil Show Society and the Munster Agricultural Show Committee.
